Swingarm bearing equivalent

My 2005 FLHTCU needs new swingarm bearings - HD part 9208.

Did web search to identify the bearing so I can get one cheaper than HDs $38 each plus post or 2 hours ride to collect. It must be a standard bearing - maintenance free radial spherical rod end bearing.

Thought I'd got it when I found a close-up pic of Drag Specialities' part 1302-0367 which shows a GE25EC ($22 from my local bearing shop). Then realised that is a metric bearing for 25mm diameter shaft.  Must be wrong because 2002-2006 models have a 3/4" diameter shaft.

In short - does anyone have an old bearing lying around to tell me the universal part number?

    Many thanks in advance.

    FLHuTChU

Thanks for that - I can get the Drag Specialties parts from Amazon US for $52 posted BUT I don't want to wait that long as have some time to fit it now.

Anyone got the bearing non-HD ID?

    Thanks

Hi Andysdad, this is nothing to do with your current question, I have just joined the forum. I have an 03 V Rod that i am taking to Europe next year and am chacing a tourpak and panniers. I know those you had are sold, did any others turn up that may still be around? I have seen a V Rod in the states fitted with them and they seem to work. Any ideas??

    Blinky Bill,

    Welcome to the forum!

I've PM'ed you about what little I know on V-Rod luggage. (PM allows you to send direct messages - use the PM button on the left. That way you don't hijack the thread!)

All - still hoping for that bearing reference......

    Bump - I've been away.

Someone must have an old swingarm bearing lying around - all I need is a mfrs part number (not HDs) or size/spec, please!

    Many thanks in advance.

Answered my own question - the 9208 part is a METRIC bearing! 25mm ID and 42MM OD. The factory sleeve reduces this to 0.75".

I used a better bearing with seals GE25ET-2RS (bearing was also marked GE25UK-2RS); the original had none and all the teflon had squeezed out - the resulting slack meant swingarm movement. Cost c.65% of HD price for better bearings.

    HTH someone else.

NOT wheel bearing - SWINGARM bearing is 42mm OD.

IIRC wheel bearings after 2000 are all sealed 52MM OD F & R.
