Time to service the bike 08 nighttrain, Never done the bike before, have done everything else though. Wondering what oils for complete service, ie grade and best brand and amounts for engine and box. One last question have been told all diffrent answers for this and mates all have a diffrent view, I usuallys only use 6th gear after 100kmh, was told by shop many years ago dont use 6th unless doing 120kmh plus..I have just moved from Territory where limit 130kmh so wasnt issue, but now in QLD. Have you got a manual? That will answer all your questions regarding oils and qty etc. As far as 6th goes. I ride a Heritage and use 6th gear once I hit 100k.... I just don't flog it and drop back a gear to overtake... Just don't lug the motor. as the limit is 100kph in QLD then either 5th or 6th would suffice depending on the terrain.

To get you started the Primary uses 1 Qrt Primary fluid, Bell ray or Typer F Auto Trans fluid. As long as it doesn't have wear inhibiters in it.
Crank is check on the side stand when engine is hot with the level shown on the dip stick. about 3 qts
Trans is 1 qrt.

Some people put all the same fluids in all 3 holes as long as it is suitable for the primary. Mobil Vtwin, HD Synthetic, Penrite Sin15 or Sin10. How much money you want to spend is up to you.
