My fuel remaining guage will not reset - even after filling tank and travelling 100 or more kms.

This has recently started happening and I can't find a fix or reset system in the manuals.  Does anyone have any idea on a fix  - Heritage softail  2008

    Thanks folks

possibly you could check your fault codes ,To do this you hold in the rubber button then turn on ignition, lights will flash ,speedo needle will jump full forward then back & you will read DIAG or similar on your gauge release button & a seriese of letters will show each one represents a different diagnosis on your bike, fuel, electrical ect ,just push button once to move to next letter ,it will flash on & off hold button in & it will either come up with a number or say NONE just move thru all letters & if you see a number code you can clear it by holding the button in for a few seconds it will then say clear!  then just turn off your ignition .This may help but remember that your ECM has found a fault & that each number represents a specific fault. Some one on here posted a list of the fault numbers a while back maybe do a search, Hope this Helps

Pull the main fuse and let ecm reset itself. Turn the ignition on before pulling the main RED fuse. If that don't work what tuner is on the bike

I have always reset one of the trip metres , usually "A" to zero on filling up just as a backup counter , also when ya click through the menu til fuel in kms remaining becomes visible , i hold the button in and it will slowly flash , not sure if it has anything to do with resetting it but i just hold the rubber button til it flashes 3 times before i release it , probably does fugg all , just always done it by habbit ?
Manual may have something about it , maybe i should read up on it too , or like already said could be a fault ?

If you have a Thundermax installed, you will need to contact them to solve the problem as I did, it involves hooking up the original ecm etc....best of luck, buggar when it happens

Thanks to you all for the assistance

I do have a Thundermax - and in their manual they do have a fix which does involve reconnecting the original ECM and a rather technical series of on-off events.  Will have to wait to see if it works  - 100 miles and a new tank of fuel - but here goes.
