This is exactly what Badcooky and Bahl was going on about in another thread, and in that context i agree. Why do people think it worth more now that when it was new? Nothing special about it apart from its numbered. Big deal. So is mine, Its called a vin..........

If people will pay then good luck to the sellers, it begs the question "what mental issue is affecting the buyers"?

Nice. I like how both the Starting Bid and Buy It Now price are both $20k. Leaves a lot of room for negotiation :)

Yeah , definately wishful thinkin that used bikes and second hand bling actually appreciate like that , unless boxed up and put away for 50yrs as chopaweeza was sayin ?
Then again although abusing them a bit at times , mines gotta be worth at least a million bucks "too me" , as was the one before that , though , i did jump at the $26600 trade-in i was offered by the local stealer after calling in for a free minor clutch adjustment on returning from a trip up north , 3 and a half years ago now !
Being closing time and absolutely hammering down rain the salesman said ahhh i got ya now , ya not going anywhere in this weather , come and i`ll take ya on a tour of the new shop , showing me the service area and basement , he talked me into an appraisal , me mentioning along the way that my misses and I were almost killed taken out by an outa control tarago van a few months earlier , though he seemingly wasn`t interested or went over his head as another salesman joined in the convo after doing his appraisal , both busy trying to clinch a opportunistic sale and me thinkin , your really gonna give me that much for my crashed , repaired and never quite the same again heritage , ok lets crack the egg on a new vivid black Roadie Classic while i think about that one , told them i was offered 26k trade on a shmick lookin vivid black FLHRC that i fell in love with up in Moree while recently passin through stopping at a tractor shop that had a small HD sign on the roof , to buy some spair syn3 .
Exitedly crackin the box open like a kid at christmas and takin a pic and sendin it to the minister of finance , i told the 2 keen as salesman that the missus wouldn`t let ya stitch me up on a new bike unless it had a backrest and rack , which they eagerly through in the $600 odd backrest and 4 point docking kit sayin and we`ll blow ya previous offer out of the water by $600 if ya shake on a deal today , but baulked at the $350 rack , me sayin fuggit , ya got me , i`ll buy ya rack fellas , wrap it up , i own it , shook on it and said i will collect it next week , not having a vivid black one in stock i said mate , silver will do just fine thanks man ?
Talkin about depreciation , a bit off topic though , i paid almost $52k for a new 6ltr 6speed Phantom VE Sportwagon 3yrs ago to the day , i re insured it yesterday at market value $33k , NRMA full comp stung me 14 hundo , it`s the way the cookie crumbles so they say ?

I fail to understand why anyone would want to buy a bike then never use it. even the anniversary models were made to be ridden, so for me, it is a bike so let's ride it. I admit I am waiting for my FLSTCANV to arrive, then I am planning to have a couple of things changed then I am looking at riding it to Melbourne for the 110th party, the part that pisses me off is when you are trying to sell it doesn't matter about all the time and money spent on the thing, they want it cheaper, but if you are buyin, all of a sudden it is very important. I admit I ordered mine for a little bit of the wank factor, but I really liked the colour, so i put my order in,
