Just modified my bike lift to suit my Dyna
You need to remove the original lift frame
You need 2 bits of 38mm x 25mm steel 370mm long. drill the first hole 60mm in from the end and about 13mm up from the bottom then drill your other hole at the same centres as the original frame. I then cut the original rubber strip and drilled holes in the steel to fit it. mount the 2 bits on the outside with the end with the hole 70mm in at the front
my mod some time ago to suit my bagger.
looks good chopa i'd be a bit worried about the bolts taking all the weight though and not the frame.
One i prepaired earlier used on my softy and yes wobbly ,didn't even try it on my RK.
If you welded a larger square plate on the bottom it would be steadier maybe
yeh mate your rite wouldv'e helped , It will stay on the shelf now its done its job.
thats good shit Chopa. it's given me a bit of food for thought, being the miserable prick I am I picked up a lift from Supercheap, on special for $$99 . and it fits under and lifts my Softail no worrys,,,but it does not seem to steady up there, especially to go hanging of spanners in a big way...(you no giving something a bit of muscle),,to spread the lift arms as you have done might just settle it down that little bit..plus,,,but maybe not,,,be able to get behind the shockies and spread far enough forward to pick up closer to the front of the under frame???mmmm could need some welding here?
cheers Jimmy.
Mod for lifter is for Dyna to clear the sump .
Cheers Tim.
I have the Repco one. For the money it is worth the money. I have to do some running repairs when I first got it, Chinese manufacturing. But since then no problems. I have heard of the hydraulic jack shitting itself... They were swapped out for a new jack... I think they have a 12 month warranty with them as well. I haven't seen the SCA one as yet.
Just ahd a look at the SCA lift. Get the Repco one... The SCA is very similar and probably made in the safe factory.. Both Chinese made so save yourself some bucks...
I've just uploaded a pic of the SCA brand lift, check my original post.
Hi folks. Seen a few threads on folk looking for a bike stand. Bought a Tradequip 650kg ATV, motorbike stand from Burson auto parts. Bit pricier than I'd hoped at $208. Seen later online around $170. A snap to put together, seems good quality, low, reasonable pumped up height, quite stable nice wide rubber lined bed to hold bike which had some clearance each side of frame, nice welding, pump looks reasonable quality. Lifted bike easily, 3 step safety, and let it down gently with minimal handling and made cleaning the softtail a breeze today. Didn't really want to push the bike around on the jack. Some pics in case you've been looking.
I have the same lift. Had it about 3 - 4 years. No complaints !!! Think i paid about $170 - 190 . Cheers
