I can picture this miserable piece of shit driving his 70s Volvo wearing his tweed hat peering through the steering wheel spokes, minding everyone else's business but his own. Most likely texting his outrage to that pathetic tabloid rag while driving...And what Joey said !!!!!

Yes there are some people out there who just like to cause trouble and think that we should live in a quiet world.

Not going to happen with all the noise around whether is be a car or a bike or even industry making a roar or that annoying dog next door that wants to bark all night preventing you having a good nights sleep.

Im all for having loud pipes on my Harley but you should think about the neighbours also other people in your travels.

Some bikes are way too noisy and some riders just make a loud noise for the fun of it, personally I wouldn't want to draw unwanted attention to myself because you never know who is arround at the time and they could very well just write your rego number down and call the EPA. Then you may have a knock on the door with an EPA man asking you to please explain why your bike is so loud. He isn't going to care about whether loud pipes save lives he is just going to say fix the noise or you get a fine.

So does any 1 know FOR SURE, what the implications of refusing an EPA roadside test is??? Do they just send u the form saying u must attend a testing place or can they throw the book at you like the coppers do when u refuse a breath test? Facts please...(I`m in Victoria BTW)

They got me at the roadside test with the cops and I copped a 704 dollar fine for first offence, when I went to a testing place they said they have had heaps of bikes getting letters to be checked and roadside retests and said all the roadside retests they did every report that had was that the person got the fine... as where the people who only got the "go get tested letter" had like 50/50 fined
I`d love to know if we could just say "nah cant stop, too busy, but I`ll go get tested another time"

any1 can report someone who they "think" their bike ro car is too noisy and the coppers will send them out a letter to be tested otherwise be put off the road.... this will cost the $45 bucks every time, the cops dont give a fuck tey just send it.. a mate has some asshole that keeps reporting him, he has been tested 3 times already =$150 bucks...

I work on a CNR of Hwy1 and across the road from the city Hospital.
The only time that I can not hear the PH is when the Ambo needs to cross the traffic, police on a pursuit or the
Moto riders are on the road.
Three demographics that "need" sound to avoid collisions.
No's one and two have an indemnity BUT the other has less protection even though it is documented that moto riders are the most
susceptible in a collision from other road users .
    Must be a protectionist thing.
Save essential service personnel and kill off motorcycle riders.. Is this arguement Black and white??
Maybe the lawmakers do not see it the same as we do.?????????????

If they did, would we have the "cheese grater" cable guards on all major roads?... I think not.
They (the man) is trying to save driver and not riders

If you don't front up for noise test by due date on letter you get fine & rego suspended, but you can write a letter & ask for an extension if you have a good reason.

While at the newsagents, I was verberly attacked by some old bloke that said he lived in my area and has seen and heard me on my bike. He was ranting away how it disturbs him and such.

I ask how long does the noise go on for and the answer was about a minute or so.

Bloody hell thats a bit of His life he wont get back!

The old bloke continued on with "There should be a law against you lot to stop the loud exhaust"  just as a loud bike came screaming past the shop.

He then said " There you go bloody harleys" and with that I had to have the final say...

"That was a Ducati ya silly old bastard, get ya bikes right!"

    as he scurried off.

I live in a quiet suburben street with five other ground level units on a block of land measuring aproximately 50 metres x 20 metres. The other residents range from 3 to 80 years, the 80 year old lady lives right next door to me, and no one has ever complained about the noise from my bike since I purchased it earlier this year. I'm considerate, and do the right thing by my neighbors, letting it only warm up idle for a few minutes before casualy setting off on my journey. As soon as I arrive home I shut it off straight away.

I believe if someone has an axe to grind, why don't they have the balls to have a polite discussion with whoever is bothering them before dobbing them in. Surely a better solution can be resolved that way.
