Hello ... I have an 04 XL Sporty... And I would like to adjust the idle down to give it more of the potato sound... How can I do it ??? Thanks...  Labate

04 is a carby. Shouldn't there be an idle screw somewhere on the carb?

yeah, there'll be an idle screw, it'll be springloaded, use your service manual to find the exact one. But don't adjust below about 900-1000 rpm, otherwise you'll starve the engine of oil. Evo engines don't sound like ironheads, and there's no point killing the engine to impress people you don't know at the traffic lights. But, its your bike, do what u want.

thanks to all ... mine Sporty is a carby one ... and so far, i didnt find the idle screw... tomorow ill take the air filter housing... maybe will find there ... and I need to buy the service manual, indeed ... cheers boys and ride safely ...

with the  stock air cleaner on it's hard to see  but take of the cover but leave on the backing plate as this holds on the carb to the motor ,if it backfires it can blow off the carb & spill petrol on your hot exh pipes & you know how that coulld end up ,    a one very hot sporty
