Hi All, Ive searched a lot of forums for info on air cleaners and havent found exactly what Im after.

What I'd like to know is this...I have a stage 1 SE air cleaner on my 2012 fatbob.

Ive recently had a S&S 106 kit installed with reworked heads, 640 cams and V&H pro pipe

Q, Is there a better air cleaner out there that will add anything more than the SE that I currently have?

    Thanks

mate the SE heavy breather is the best by far.

     hi,

many reckon the SE heavy breather is the up there with the biggest bang for buck mod you can make

is that peoples experience? I have stock air cleaner but the SE heavy breather keeps catching my eye when I go to the harley shop

    thanks

So did you go with the 58 mm throttle body when you did your upgrade? If you did then your limited to your choice of the S&S or SE.

Look at the HPI 55 TB or the SE 58mm TB and give that 640cam more air and fuel

look at the R&R AIR CLEANERS

Im not looking to do any extra mods to the motor but wondering if an S&S or roland sands etc will be any better than the stage one SE cleaner (not heavy breather). Thanks

    Exotx make a good airleaner
but then so do R&R, S&S, Bob Woods,HPI and a squillion others.
For ease of availabilty and fitment the Heavy Breather would flow more than your 106 would ever require.

Finally decided on Performance machine supergas. Installed in 30 min by myself and a helpful mate but made the bike splutter and fart. Down to my engine man and hooked up to the laptop. 10min later riding away with a free breathing great looking cleaner. Im a happy man

Superroo where did you get the S&S kit from? and is it with heads also.
Just starting to look into this size set up maybe S&S or Fuelmoto or the like.

    Hey ozy
Got it at P&L performance in toongabbie sydney.
I wanted to keep the build below $4k. Kept standard heads but they were machined....a mate and I weighed up stage 4 but anyone other than harley recommended the S&S 106 for the $$ and it was then just a matter of what cams..one guy said 585's and the guy we went with said 640's based on what we wanted the bikes to do. I love the deep lumpy sound I get with the V&H propipe and its got downlow grunt in every gear....bit of popping on decel but he said that the pipes and cant do much about it. My mate has straight through pipes which dont have any popping.. Im really happy..will do a dyno in the future to see the numbers.
    Cheers

cheers mate be interested to see the outcome.
there seems to be a few good kits around but also some good results from guys that have pieced it together themselves.

Fuel Moto 107" kit, TW-777 cams, FM Level Be heads, Jackpot 2/1/2, Jackpot Pro Touring mufflers, has a dyno sheet showing 118hp 126ftlb and a very flat torque curve
wouldn't mind an outcome like that
