Since this old thread got pulled up again I might add the Gopro Hero 3s are out. There is a white, silver and black version. Be aware that just because its a Hero 3 doesn't mean its better than the Hero 2 The Hero 2 is 11 megapixel I think, while the white version Hero 3 is only 5mp.

the white is I think the original hero? They ave added wi fi to it. The hero 2 should be fairly cheap until they run it out?

So far I don't think Hero 2 prices have dropped much at all. I know people who have just paid good money for Hero 2s that are really pissed off.

 If you what all the bells & whistle get the black  Ithink it would be well worth teh money. I have 2 hero 2's & I have just sent back to the states as the importer here wouldn't gave a warrenty claim & the GoPro USA is which I thought was quiet good so I'm staying with GoPro.

i got the sony action cam, its a slightly better picture than the gopro and dosnt hang off the side of the helmet like a brick. I subscribe to ARidersLife on youtube and he use's the Drift HD which has a smaller profile than the sony.

There's another contender from Kogan.

As I understand it (do your own fucking research), its got an intergrated LCD screen, its 8mp, it's a gopro "knockoff" and it costs $149.
