we came across a motorcycle accident. The rider had lost it on a corner and hit the armco. They had a blanket covering him by the time we arrived.

It was obvious the rider had died on the scene.

A groups of bike riders were on the opposite side of the road. One had his head in his hands and shaking his nead back and forth.

The road was dry, no oil and it was a bright sunny day. By the condition of the bike speed was a definite factor. The accident was on the road between WIsemans Ferry and Windsor.

    A tragic loss of life.

Dont ride faster than your angel can fly. Know your limits and travel less then that.

    Damn!!

The stats don't lie man... Nearly 70% of all motorcycle crashes are rider error! :(

    Stay safe out there people.

It was a great ride till then. Warm weather and just cruising and taking our time. Picked up a stray rider who slotted in behind us and joined us for many km's. Had lunch at Wisemans Pub.
We covered the equivalent mileage of riding from Cessnock to Bathurst. Just over 400km. The scene didnt ruin the ride BUT it made me think about the family of the rider and if kids were involved. It certainly did make us ride just that little bit slower.
RIP unknown rider. My condolences to your family and friends.

Choppaweeza, sorry for your loss mate. It certainly is a shocking, sobering read, and it makes us realise how vulnerable we are.

On a personal level, riding my bike on an open road, the sun on my shoulders, with my darling on the back, is an experience we can all relate to.
Yes, I do know there is a false sense of security as I ride a "big bike" with a noisy exhaust, and I have three lights on at all times. This can be quashed in a moment of madness, a split second, forever in eternity.

You're right though, you can ride hundreds of thousands of k's......... Ride safe out there gentlemen!!!!
