I was just wondering guys, if a Harley 2009 Heritage can be pushed started with a flat or dead battery?

Can be done but it's a fucking heavy push !!

It's a coupla mates job and make sure there's no hill to have to push it back up if it's a NO-GO

Ignition and run switch on ( easy to Forget that one !!) and 2nd if you can get into it. May have to be first gear.

I would have it Neutral and drop it into 1st or 2nd. Bloody hard push in gear with the clutch in as they will bind. :(

Well I have rolled my 2008 away from my house down the hill , put the ignition on while rolling , and lifted the gear lever into 1st or 2nd and it "roll-started" but it didn't seem too happy. So in an "emergency" it would appear to work

You need enough voltage in the battery to run the fuel pump and injectors, along with the ECU.
You won't start it if you battery is totally dead.
Another trick is to pull the headlight fuse to help minimize the load.

As kiwidave said , Wouldn`t think it would work "dead flat" , but interesting too know for sure !

Me and a mate tried push starting my '10 wideglide and couldn't do it.Eventually the back wheel just locked up and couldn't get it to start, so had to wait for the trickle charger to fill up the battery.

yes in first gear, twin cams dont like being push started they need high revolutions to fire it up, when my starter relay packed it in got 2 guys to push, in first gear then bounce on the seat to get traction...mines a fuel injected dyna ..
