I am thinking about getting rid of the mid controls and highway pegs & going to a forward control system on the super glide but don't want them too far forward so if anyone has any info, pics etc of the reduced reach harley kit part # 50700008 or alternatives they could let me know about it would be great. I have tried the search function but it seems to revert to google and not the forum so any help is appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Joe

I think that the reduced- reach forward controls are those for guys like me that are "vertically challenged"; if you're not, I think the 'regular' ones would probably suit you.

The trouble I find for myself is because I have short legs even with my adjustable hi-pegs fitted my right leg comes in contact with the aircleaner which kicks out my right foot and it does not sit right on the footpeg, I have to bend my foot to keep it on the peg it becomes quite uncomfortable to the point that I don't use the hi-pegs anymore and have taken them of my bike just remember this before you buy forwards cheers.

    fitted them today seem good.
I'll go for a ride tomorrow and do any fine adjustments I need to the shifter and rear brake levers

Choco have you tried the foot peg heel rests for forward controls ? They're suppose to reduce the fatigue

After test riding Harleys on the weekend I mentioned this to one of the sales guys.  He suggested looking at different seats that brings you closer to the tank rather than changing the controls. Hope that idea might help..

I'm 5'7" or 172cm and found the pegs on the fatbob and wideglide a bit of stretch, I had to experiment a bit to find a "well planted" position.  I was even thinking that perhaps boots with more rubber on the bottom of them than my Dr Martins might give a better feel.

maybe try a reach seat , its said they move you forward 1'' , and the 1'' back from the reach controls might help too.. if a bike shop has a reach seat in stoch they might let you try it on for a sit .. just a thought ..J.D.
