Has anyone gone this way? Any advice on this build? Reliability Compare to stage IV 103?
A stage IV kit is better. I had a stage III kit and that was great. I got 94 HP. It really was a kick in the ass from the std motor it replaced. If you get a stage IV kit you will need to add better lifters. Std lifters will not handle and will collapse I've seen this happen on SE103 stage IV. You are better off putting in new lifters just for safety sake .
PD,
The brother in law did the 113 stage IV on his then new 2011 softail with big radius 2:2 pipes, 58mm TB and heavy breather and made about 117 on both power/torque. Split the case and did the timken bearing and welded/balanced the crank. Bike fairly flies above 3k rpm and can turn the tire in second gear if you want it to. Quite tractable around town for such big cam (wide LSA).
How fast is it. Don't know as he pulled out of the last drag day and is not attending the next one. I was offered to ride it on that day but declined.
