I just put on my 2012 road king a DNA 21"  fat daddy  front wheel, all seamed to go well until the fist ride where the ABS light stays on. The wheel has been made for my bike with ABS bearings. When I checked the Diagnostic display An error code of C1021shows ,which means the encode reads zero , thus it thinks the bikes not moving so it stays on , I have cleared it but comes back on straight away.... any one have any ideas , we tried cleaning the sensor with white spirit , we tried shiming out the sensor further from the bearing .we checked the fuse.... if any one could help I  would appreciated it greatly thanks Rod

Are the bearings different from side to side? Did they put the ABS bearing on the wrong side? Or as the mechanic will say "Na Mate ya bike is back to front on ya wheel, sorry not my fault"

As I dont know anything about the difference of ABS bearinging I'm just shooting questions.

    Regards

    copied from another forum

    • Wheel spacer is the sensor and is directional
    • Non ABS models have different bearings and additional spacers
    • ABS bearings are directional and are assembled gray side out / orange side in
    Important Service Note:
The use of a magnetic parts tray will adversely affect ABS wheel bearings

yeah Russ they are different like Hogbads reply the ABS bearing is magnetic Thanks Hogbad your info Has confirmed what we wre thinking but all`s good on that part ,silver side out & the sensor was left hanging not taken off completly so it went back on the same way... Its a mystery cause all the measurments from the OEM wheel match perfectly, used the same spacer ,the discs lined up spot on apart from a slight rubbing noise at low speed braking (which wasn`t there to start with ) it seems fine & obviouly the ABS is not working so I won`t take any chances untill sorted  cheers Rod

I read the wheel bearing has to be fitted in the right position in the hub to work. Also a few guys said the bike has to be riden for more then 15 mile if the light stays on ? not sure why but it was brought up twice on the other forum
