883 to 1250 c.c. sporty conversion kit

     looking @ using the 1250 c.c. barrel kit for the new  sporty 883 iron with some cams & a slight head port & polish , this bike is a 2012 model too  take out to 1200 you have to buy barrels as the later 2009 & up you can not bore them out to suit as per the earlier girls  there is not enough meat in the barrel, if i'am going to buy barrels i was thinking of the 1250 kit's that are aval like NHRS brand or Hammer Performance , i  only normaly use AXTELL or S&S if i go big bore ,  but they do not do this size kit , has anyone used  these brands or know of any other brands  i would like to hear any results ,   thanks

    I did an NHRS 1250 back in 2010 with N4 cams, my tune, heavy breather and V&H side shots, with Stock heads. Goes hard, Was sold to my brother and has racked up 16,000 HARD Kms since. eats most big twins, including a few rather expensive 103 custom builds. It's coppin a custom made turbo kit as we speak.

    +1 for Hammer Performance, but I think you can't go wrong with NRHS either.

    daddyracer I see yr on the US XL forum. Hammer will do you 10% off. Dan @ Hammer did me a good deal & it helped offset my shipping costs.

    The manifold and rear compressor housing are off being HPC'd & we still have to drill the cam cover for return, and the throttle body for a vac port for the bov. It's only going to be running 6psi. No intercooler planned. Ill post some pics up once it's sorted.

    883 convert , your 1250 kit  on the N4 andrews cam  did you have pinking problems & what comp ratio is she , i use to use n4 on  883 to 1200 conversions ,   BUT COULD NOT RUN COMP RATIO OVER   9 TO 1  WITH OUT PROBLEM'S

    My old bike is 10:1... Tuned on 98ron, no pinging, with external breathers... Used to ping every now and then with factory breathers... Oil vapour lowering RON just enough to bring on detonation. No pinging now if lugged on cold nights or 40deg plus days.

    nhb, did you make up your own turbo "kit" or did you get one from Jason in the U.S?

    I spoke with Jason and the price was almost half that of Trask but in the end we made our own for almost haf the price again. Although we are still waiting for a bill from the coaters, and still need to sort out oil lines, BOV and a few other small things.

    5psi will rock, but go for 10. Keep static comp low at 8.5 or 8.0 as the dynamic gets bloody high (ie 8.5:1 under 10lbs of boost is actually 14.5:1... LoL)
    Are u using a fuel pump and rising rate reg or are you doing draw-through?

    Hey guys,
    I need advice on the 1250cc conversion on my 2010 883. I read the following page, but got lost on compression rates, and wasn't sure if it related only to the turbo talk.
    I'm in MEL, and looking to get the conversion done.
    Anyone recommend a kit, and a wrencher to do the work competently for me at a reasonable price?

    Am I asking too much?
