Anybody know if early Buell disks (about 1995~2002) 340mm dia will bolt onto a 2008 softail front hub, 5 bolt pattern. If they do, does anyone have one?
cheers
Come on some one must know, I want to upgrade the single disc front braking system on a 2008 Softail, some people to take off twin discs and go to a single disc. A swap to a dyna front if your one of these people?
Already have new 6 pot calipers off a Hyabusa and the biggest floating disc I can find on any bike is one off a early Buell at 340 mm, it looks to have the same 5 bolt pattern but the centre hole looks bigger. Can make or have made a spacer to fix the centre if its bigger. The bigger 340 mm diameter gives me 20% better braking over the 290 mm standard disc and the 6 piston will add to it. Make my own bracket to fit the caliper, cheaper and less work swapping a disc and caliper, than a whole new front end or fork sliders, wheel, two discs, twin brake lines and master cylinder to get twin discs.
Anyone been down this path before?
I'd suggest the Search function within this forum.
The reason no one has replied is because this topic along with a few other common ones (cams) is covered almost every other week.
Big brakes on the front have been covered numerous times in the past.
Here is one to get you started.

Good luck and remember the search function is your friend.

Thanks, did a LOT of searching on the net without any conclusive result, but now I know where to look.
