Just looking at getting a set of 2:1 s for the dyna not sure on which ones though. I cant seem to find where i cans search for old threads, so i apologise for covering old ground.

I have a 98 Dyna evo. It  has the madatory SE air intake and runs 9;5:1 compression with ev 27 cam and a twin tech ignition system. She still the original CV carb, but considering the Mikuni 42 carb.

The dilemma for me is that at the moment she has some non descript , very average, pipes on and its time to upgrade. Seems 2:1 are the go for over all performance gains, but i stand to be corrected. From what i have read the main contenders are the Supertrapps, D&D, V&H, and Thunderheaders . I am after reliability, and am not interested in making an old 98 1340 evo into a rocket sled or anything just rying to get the best outta what i have.  Any thoughts  would be appreciated

Of course i'll tell you that the D&D Fatcat is the best. Exceptional quality and performance plus a damn good sound. But they respond best to 10.0 - 10.5 comp, a slightly bigger cam than the Andews 27 and the Mikuni just tops off a real sweet tune.

Others will likely have a different opinion. Your problem is deciding who to agree with but you'll probably be happy with whatever way you go.

Thanks Wazdog for your reply. Fat cats sure do have a nice quiet sound alright. I had a mate who has some and when he gave it a bit, the noise was awesome, but i think you are right, they are to much pipe for my old girl
