mirrors flipped!

     Too easy.

The only thing to be mindful of is the clearance to the right-side indicator (easily fixed by loosening it off a bit using an allen key), and taking care not to scrap anything while tightening up the mirror nut on the same side. Other than that, it's just a case of undo the nuts holding each mirror to the bars, swap them over, and tighten everything up again.

It makes quite a difference to the appearance of the bike, and is a definite improvement. Love it! It's such an easy mod to do, and gives a great result.

I also adjusted the headlight while I had the tools out, as the default alignment gave me great illumination of the front tyre but not a whole lot else! I didn't bother drawing lines on the wall like the manual said to do - eyeball alignment worked a treat, and I only needed to make a minor adjustment after a test ride.

Just my opinion (and to each their own) but it kind of negates the whole mini-ape handlebar type look - having the mirrors up makes them look higher. To me its like change for the sake of change.

@Bonkerz, you're forgetting that there are many reasons for putting apes on a bike, and lifting everything up is only one of them. Just because I want my arms up higher doesn't mean I want everything else up higher as well. Flipping the mirrors restores some balance and cleans up the lines above the bars quite nicely.

As for the speedo, one of the next mods on the list is to get the fork bracket from Joker Machine (the swivel one, WITHOUT the idiot lights). I'll replace the current speedo housing with the bracket (also from Joker) that keeps the idiot lights where they are (minus the speedo, obviously!). But eventually I want to get a set of black drag bars on (probably) 5" risers, so I'll get rid of the idiot lights altogether at that point, except for the oil light (seriously, who really needs them? Don't know where neutral is - then get off the bike! Need a flashing light right in front of you to tell you that the flashing lights right in front of you are still flashing - then get off the bike! Need a light to tell you that high beam is on because you're too lazy to check the switch position - then get off the bike! The only one that is genuinely functional is the oil light.) I'll also relocate the indicators to the forks, and clean the bars up a little more in the process.

And once I've got the bars sorted, I reckon I might do a tank lift (including coil/key relocation). 2" will probably do quite nicely, and should work in conjunction with the bars to create a nice look. I know some of these things might be fairly generic, but they're also dirt cheap and dead easy, and the perfect place to start when you want to get with the customisation process but are a bit strapped due to preparations for an interstate move.

Pigiron, your mirrors look good flipped. The Joker setup is a good idea, I'm headin down the same path with my new speedo/tacho. Will post up a pic when I eventually get it done.

    Slap.
