I'm in NSW and the limit is 101dB, thats what the letter from EPA stated and thats what the tester said. I would be surprised if stock pipes even stayed under 97 after watching the test. My bike was 97 at idle.
I have a 2011 nightster I thought that it was 97dB but it happens to be 101dB.... not complaining about that.
Took mine to the authorised EPA noise test station, Tester said all the limits that you have heard are bollocks. I was testing some 1 3/4" baffles, Non standard Slip ons, The tester read the sticker on my bike, if no sticker he would look up the make and model and get the information off the net. Bike had to be around 92db @ 4125 Rpm to pass, read 102db, so baffles were to loud. He stated that each bike is different, what ever the label is, is the db it has to be.
move to central queensland, problem fixed, they dont give a rats ass about any noise out here. cheers BRUSH.
yeah no what you mean, but the best part is you dont have to worry about how your bike handles in corners, THERE AINT NONE, just chewin out the center of tyres and cruisin at 140 plus and never any wet wheather. cheers BRUSH
Anybody know how V&H 3" slip ons would fare?
ccfatboy...
The tester said he has never been able to pass anything but standard and even standard wont pass if the engine has been tuned or tweeked.
