    Gday all. I am the proud owner of a brand spankin 13 wide glide. now i have read pages and pages of running in info the problem is everyonehas their own ideas. what right and whats wrong.?????? its enought to make my head spin!!!!!! the only thing i can find thats constant is dont lug the engine and vary engine speed. lugging im fine with bt how much varyation shoud be made to rpm?? i want to do it right the first time.... and help would be awsome

    cheers guys. juzst reading somewhere else that some peeps say to drop the factory synthetic oil and put in mineral oil.. run it for 50 miles then dump it again and replace with synthetic???????

    whats all this that i hear that mobil 1 vtwin can be used for engine and primary and tranny????

    just seems a bit out there that one oil can be used for all 3 applications.

     Always run my bikes in hard, they always go better than they should and never use oil.

    First 100k's is critical for bedding in rings.

     
     
    Basically if it's built right you won't break it, if it's built wrong you might, better to break it straight away than have it give you trouble after the warranty's run out!

    I just used that method to bed in my new over size pistons rings and barrels, no oil consumption, clean plugs and a strong running motor

    i have always used the mototune method as well no issues here.

     Im with these guys. Ive had a few different bikes over the years but have always just riden them like any other bike. No point babying it cos its new. And the same as above, Ive never had a bike thats used oil and theyve all gone well from day dot.
