Exhaust flap removal

    Hi,

I have a 2012 Super Glide custom with S&S slipons, SE breather kit and a tune that has set the exhuast flap to be always open.  I am due to get a dyno tune soon and was wondering whether there is any advantage in having the flap removed altogether.  Even though the flap is open it must still be stopping some flow.  Does anybody know if there would be a noticebale difference either in seat of the pants tourque or at the bowser?

    Cheers

Removed mine and fitted an eliminator plug to trick the ECM

Ended up leaving the flap in.  Head tech guy said I wouldn't get much improvement and could spend my $s better elsewhere.

The dyno tune increased torque from 80.3 ft/lbs to 86.6 and horsepower from 69 to 72.  Bike certainly runs smoother and felt a smidge faster.  Still got popping on a closed throttle but not as loud.

    Cheers
