Gee must be my age but yes you really are pushing my patience. Now do yourself a favour and research how much that combo will set you back. Send daddyracer a pm and ask him, and dont be afraid to post his reply!

don't know and don't care but I thought they were some thing like 140ci 140hp 140ftlb and about 12sec 1/4 mile so not a particularly fast bike, should be able to build a streetable HD to go quicker than that but at some cost no doubt. best bang for your buck after building a reasonably strong motor would be "full throttle hit the bottle"

I agree ozymax. Looks like they're running closer to 11sec but a 120 with a bit of work would do that or even 106 with nos.

Just buy a rocket 3. Or if you want to beat one on a cruiser buy a Yamaha Vmax and only a little bit of coin will get you into a cruiser seating posture.

Thanks for your input everyone. Apologies for typos. Apologies for ruffling feathers. (I'll do more research before asking next time) Rather than obsess about beating a friend's bike at lights, I'll just get the fat bob with a stage 4 kit. I'm sure that will be plenty of power for a while.

    Cheers

    now your thinking
remember for every bike you can beat there is always a faster one just lurking around the corner. You want a harley just get one and enjoy all it brings with it.
where are you located? Knowing that might help direct you to some great workshops.
If you want to drag it well it will be a very different set up to a great street bike built for long haul.
You can have it both ways but it will be a compromise

     Thanks ozymax.

I'm in Hobart.  My Boss has a rocker C and another Harley and 2 Jap bikes.  He has suggested  http://www.titan-oz-choppers.com.au/ .  He also suggested comparing the prices to Richardson Harley Davidson, but that Titan will be a few thousand cheaper.

I wont be wanting to drag the bike at organised meets.  I want to blitz away from traffic at lights heading to work (but even the Virago 250 I had once could do that) and on weekends get away from it all on some of the great roads around Tassie.  So the bike doesnt need to be geared for the quarter mile.  Mainly it just needs to put a smile on my face.  (Might have to keep the full face helmet for a while so I dont look like a grinning fool)

There's a new 126 CI S&S engine which produces 150hp and 145lb of torque or there is a limited edition 145CI which put out 185hp and 205lb of torque.   Had a 124 in an old dyna which was great fun, and one in a wild custom which was the worst ride ever.   Not sure if they fit into the post 2006 chassis though.  The boys at Morgan and Wacker in Brisbane used to drag race the 124's regularly.

    Good luck

    Thanks jimichelle,
I'm over having to beat the Triumph now. I'm now content to buy a fatbob and get some go faster bits applied to it, like the SE stage 4 performance kit, some nice pipes and a heavy breather intake. I'm half way through filling out a finance application.

Mate i just wanna say one thing. Harley is for Joy ride and put smile on ur face not for drag. If u want drag than buy some jap or ducati. Not harley and its cheaper as well.
    Cheers

PS: Ride Safe and enjoy ur new harley.

thanks guys, a 103 with stage 4 will do me, and due to a decree by the financial director, I'll probably have to get it stock, and buy the kit some months later... I now have to pay of a Line of Credit and then use that to fund the Harley.

Mmmm , been reading with interest, so i'll just jump in and let you know , first of all i will not talk mechanics , cos i only know how to check the oil , but what i do know is i'm a conservative rider , don't consider myself good enough, or brave enough to thrash my rocket , so if we set of at the lights together, chances are we will be alongside each other , unless of course i want to get away , then its simple , i've left you behind .

Now if your a rev head and don't like being left behind you probably could go spend 10 grand to keep up or possibly overtake me, thats fine but cost you 10 grand to do it .

But what you gonna do at the next set of lights , when you have lofty bob on his souped up rocket , with a big grin on his face saying lets boogy baby, Me thinks if you really want to leave everyone behind , go buy a sportsbike , or even a rocket

Will do. Just need to sell the Guzzi now so I've got the last bit of funds for the fatbob.
