Yep, I like what they're cranking out. They will have proved themselves by the time I upgrade (probably increase their prices too) ...I will be having a serious tyre kick in a few years

The main problem that I see with the Victory range is that the resale value is absolutely horrible, not only worse than a Harley... it's actually worse than most jap bikes.

I can't stand the look of them. If they lost their "spaceship" designs I might have a second look.

No, don't really like the look myself.

They just look too 'smooth' and 'rounded'....really hard to explain. I'd even say Harleys are going a (very little) bit too much that way for my liking.

But then, my idea of a 'real' Harley is something along the lines of a late shovel, or the "94 evo I ride....but of course, I'm biased!!

Let's forget the styling for a second....Victory put out a product, and a quality level at a price that puts HD to shame.

    Yeah, I said it.

Got a mate thats ridden a Victory for a couple of years, one of the better models, cant think of the name.

He loves it, but I did ask him to get rid of the plastic on it and thats coming from someone thats rides a Suzuki LC.

He has and so Have I. Both happy.

I've just bought an old Evo as well, happy as Lary re how it looks, but got to get it to the Mechanic soon, thing is making me cry. Lol

Victory is (at the moment) like a fat old hooker - a great ride, but you'ld be ashamed to let anyone see you riding it.

Seen a lot around lately, I think it's the value for money that is selling them. If you could get an equivalent model harley for the same price, you'd go HD wouldn't you? The high ball is a matt black, 106ci with apes and white walls for under $20k. I understand why people want them.

    I wouldn't buy one though.

I went and had a test ride and let me tell you. I would walk home before getting back on one.

When you get up close and have a look, the quality that you guys are talking about, just is not there. I spent probably 2 hours going over this bike - (a Vegas Jackpot) and after I did, I walked away and rode my FatBoy off into the distance and never looked back.

I had every intention of going to the Jackpot. It had a 5 degree rake, and all the bling - mags etc etc, but it rode like a pig, and sounded like a fat chick with gastro.

The thing that I really could not get over was.... It felt like, as I was riding, I felt like I should have been wearing a mesh T-Shirt, shorts and loafers singing "I'm too sexy for my bike"

It screamed Miami yuppie prick! But I think that is probably the market they are chasing.

Go and have a REALLY good look at them for yourself. You might be disappointed.

    Just my 0.2

Funny you said that Mongrel, a few mates were talking bikes today and one mentioned he'd rode up to the nearest Victory dealer not long ago, thinking of upgrading. He'd seen the pics and thought they looked good (I think he's blind) but he said the quality wasn't there and the whole bike felt "wrong".

I thought he might have just been being picky, but it seems he's not alone in his opinion.

Technically Victory are great bikes, but Technically so are all the jappers which the Victory seems to lean towards,
Nice bike but Harleys have a soul most bikes dont.

I can tell you that when I challenged the way the Victory sounded ( I said it need a tune as it was backfiring and carrying on like a hippy) they told me that it had been tuned, and it was just a symptom of the radius type pipes!! WTF???

So that said to me... either they are shit, or they guy who sells them is. Either way, it was not confidence boosting.

I hated the way it rode. Maybe it was just different, but it felt crap.
