Has anyone bought a Fat Bob dual-healight kit from the states in Australia, if so did it just plug straight in and require no extra wiring/messing around with wires?

I belive if you buy the complete set up it is plug in. you need to get the initial wiring with the unit.

I fitted a US spec (and sourced) one to my 2011 model and it was a straight plug and play swap.

Took little more than 30 minutes to change over.

I ordered mine from a US dealer before the ban was put in place.

There are still ways to order from overseas, Goopping or MyUS will buy on your brhalf and post it on - for a fee.

I use Goopping as a forwarder as I buy stuff on US e-Bay and from other forums.  I can recommend them.

I just converted mine, I ordered the 69800-08 US reflector assembly from my local dealer and a H13 plug and play harness from US EBay. You need to cut one end off each of the two harnesses and join the wires and wallah!

Took about an hour, the link below is what I used to match up the wiring. Works perfect.

Does the US lights shine the wrong way??
When you buy an American Bike, the compliance for ADR means having to change the lights, but you guys are buying from the States,

    Just wondering

     Hey Soapbox.

The lights have a 'neutral' dip.  So they just point down, not to the left or right.

The hassle with legality here are that they don't have the pilot light and nor are they e-marked.  These stop them from being ADR compliant.

I have the full US headlight assembly on mine, it was far easier to change the whole thing that to cut and shut the wiring.  It also means that I have the original to put back if I do get hassled for it (or need a roadworthy).

    Cheers,

Hello guys, ( New to the forum ) , i realise this is a bit of an old thread, but has anyone tried the Doubletronics relay? It sounds like a quick and easy solution !

or is the solution HogLights ?
