the EV27 should be good fopr what you want, the pipes will help too not sure about the ones your talking about. but with pipes you just have to try them. try to get 180+ pound cranking pressure, a good ignition with adjustable advance curve can help low down responce too.
Used to own an 89 Softail, Custom Chrome pipes, S&S super E, EV27 cam, Accel coil, Screamin Eagle Ignition. Ended up putting Barnet oversize clutch in it as it could make the stock clutch slip.
At the time most guys were putting in EV3 cams as they produced more torque higher up the rev range, the EV27 was ideal for solid mounted engines.
