Pitty Michelin havn't got their Commander II in 180x 55 x18, by all accounts it sounds like the other sizes have be recieved quite well.

They did mention some time ago that they were going to realeas two more sizes but I don't know if that has happened yet or even if our size is there.

I have noticed though that on the HD site quite a lot of the machines are wearing Harley-Michelin,

Might be worth chasing up Mate.

The last pic on the HD site clearly shows a Widey with a Michi on the arse, (the black with orange flame)

Hi all...Hilly,Some tyres have a harder compound on the center of the tyre while the outsides are softer for more grip. Those are the types of tyres you should be looking for.

Hilly I am running the Mich Commander II on the rear. So far so good, I put it on Nov last year and it seems to be wearing well ATM. I have done about 7-8K on it so far.. I know they said in the US that you could get around 40K from it. But that was done on Freeway Riding ( Smooth Cement ) on an Ultra. However so far I am pretty happy with the ride and grip.

And the roads in Townsville are a lot better than Adelaide I can tell you..

    Hilly.

In the Sports bike world, you can get dual compound tyres, as you would understand, the sports bike requires a tyre moreso for cornering, so Pirelli and the like have come up with some great dual compound tyres.

The idea is that the centre is harder and there-for lasts the distance, where as the sides up to the extended wall, are of a softer compound for better cornering grip.

There should be tyres out there that suit what your after, My mate has just put Metzeler's on his 08 Fatty, it's a daily rider, he's stated there not as good as the Dunlop White Wall Standards in the wet (Worked 96Ci heavy cams and the likes) but a great wearing tyre and happy with it in the dry. The Michellin Commanders are getting a great right up, Doc for Heavy Duty is trailing them and has given some very positive feedback.

I know in Poith, we have G P Sales in Osborne Park (08) 9244 4440, they're the imported  distributor for Metzeler - Motul and others, there always happy to offer advice, and can recommend local suppliers you can buy through. might be able to point out somebody local for you.

    Cheers,
