Hey i need some help. I just took off my rear fender to fit my licence plate and some LED bolts, when i connected everything back together my brake light will turn on but when i hit the brakes it wont light up brighter, also the indicators will work when the alarm is activated but wont work when the idicator switch is pressed. Everything is connected properly so i am a bit stumped. Any ideas will bw very helpful.

If it was all working OK before you started, then go back over the thingz ya touched or changed and look for crushed wiring or an earth wire that ya missed, even a bad connection.

Also bare in mind that LED's have to be wired up with the correct polarity, get the wires around the wrong way and no workies.

    good luck,,,

the indicators are not LED but the brake light is and the license plate bolts are as well, the thing is that the rear light is on but wont get brighter when the brake is applied and the indicators work with the alarm but not when the switch is pressed. I have been over and over the connectors and all is the same as when i started. I'm baffled why they work with the alarm and not the switch and why the rear light is working but the brake light wont work when the brakes are activated. If power is getting them to work ten where do you think my problem may be. Also the LED bolts on my license plate don't work at all.

OK, so I'm getting the message that the Tail light is working when you turn the ign on,,, right?

But when you activate the brakes, no brake light is working,,, ?

And the LED number plate lights,,, where have you conected them, to the tail light circuit or the brake light circuit ?

either way, it sounds like the led's are not connected the right way, maybe, ? (so, if you have the led's hooked into the brake light circuit and it's incorrect you might be dead shorting the brake light circuit, simply disconnect the LED's and see what happens, if all comes back to normal then you'll know that they were the problem. If so, then re-connect them reversing the polarity.

question, have the LED's got two wires or just one?

the reason I'm going this way is that by the sounds of it, the only wiring changes that youv'e made are to add the LED number plate bolt lights.

Yes that is the situation with the brake light. The thing is that for the LED bolts I just cut and connected the LED wire that was originally connected to the the side mount plate holder and joined them to the same plug, I think it is the accessory plug (orange and black or brown if I remember right), as for the run/brake light it was connected on it's own there is still the issue with the indicators. Front and back will flash when alarm is activated but neither front or back work with switch.

The LED'S have 2 wires each red and black, I have each light with red and black twisted together and they join to a single wire each. WOW I think you may sparked my brain... Am I supposed to twist black from one light to the black on the other light and the red and red from each and then red to orange and black to black at the plug under seat. If so then would this cause the problem I'm having.

Oh and thanks I appreciate the time you are taking to answer my questions.

Yep, I think you're onto it. the two red wires from the LED's should be joined, and connected to the power source,

(whatever power source you choose to activate the lights)

the two black wires from the LED's should be joined, and connected to earth, ( or black wire)

By the way you've described, you could have created a dead short in the system and most probaly yes, that's the problem.

A dead short!! does that mean a blown fuse or will it be all good once i correct the wires? damn wiring I always seem to find it a brain strain.

Not a load equalizer if its a brake light? Just throwing another idea into the mix.
