I just bought an Iron 883, my first ever Harley, and will pick it up on Monday. I'll be getting it with forward controls and mini-apes to start with, with many more upgrades to come (finances permitting).

I'm already quite annoyed with the restriction on US suppliers re exports, as the prices in Australia seriously suck by comparison. Just one of the reasons I'll probably go the NRHS 1250 upgrade instead of the SE 1200 kit. Pipes and a 17L tank are also high on the list.

Anyway, it's a great bike as-is, and the first time in years that I've bought a bike without wondering whether I might end up regretting it. :-)

I figure where there's a will there's a way! I don't really care in the end if the lights are from another HD model or not, just so long as I get dual headlamps. I might have to keep researching this one, and talk to a few different dealers/mechanics. There's got to be a way of doing it that still looks good.

A few dozen websites and forums later, and I find this offering:

    http://www.aztec8.com/catalog/c6_p1.html

Looks pretty near to perfect to my amateur eyes - what do others think? They're fork-mounted, so that's a big problem solved right there, re brackets. How do you think they'd look though?

D'oh! I meant to post the comments about the lights in the thread elsewhere in the forum where I had asked about dual headlights. It's been a long week...

Thanks. Picked up the bike today, and am loving it. I'll have to wait until the weekend before I get a chance to take it out for a proper ride, but damn, it's still a lot of fun just riding around town!
