Not sure what happened, the last few post's dissapeared ???

Anyway, I've done 100kms, and it's had the first oil change.

Running very strong (only been up to 3500 Rpm and small throttle openings), front cylinder is a little warm, but still running in I guess. Appears to have decent oil pressure, and the valve train is pretty quiet so far for the Wood's TW8 Cam.  AFR is floating around 14:1 cruise, and drops into the 13's under power. I've advanced the timing, but needs still needs more work.

Will try and get around 500kms up, and will look into some Dyno time.

The clutch adjustment was a bit weird initially with the Barnett extra plate, running out of lever, but is settling in now, and lever pull is strangely light with the SE spring. Not sure if it will hold though ?

Can't seem to insert a Youtube clip ?

Just the single channel kit. Means I have to swap it around.
The tricky thing with a carby is to try and balance both cylinders !

    speedster, how is she going?

i have one of those Inovate gadgets

will you take it to the track?

Krash, running pretty good, but only done 200km's so far, so not pounding on it yet.
Grabbed a fist full and had the AFR's into the 9's so will need to drop the main jet to pull it back.
The wideband makes Carb' tuning so damn easy, don't know how we did it in the old days !!

Still got some heat issues that I'd like to improve, and waiting on a cable so I can get into the
Daytona Twin Tec ignition to play with a custom map.
The dials don't give you a lot of choice.
Also have an oil cooler on the way.
Once I get around 5-600kms, I will try and get some Dyno time.

Would love to get back into some 1/4 action.
We have an 1/8 track locally, and looks like Heathcote is still doing test and tune days.

Looks like the new motor has gone tits up !!

Found the rod big end side clearance is screwed, 1.35mm clearance, and the crap in the oil has scuffed the bore/pistons.

Was still running great, and pretty quiet !

The worst thing is, I have no F'ing idea why it's happened !
I'm trying to figure out if it's anything I could have done wrong ?
Figured I was doing the right thing by having the Crank built by the best, and having them set it up in the new cases.

I'm sure they will stand behind their product, but it will still cost me $$ and time.

Badcooky, not sure what your point is ?
That was my experience when fitting the clips, and the piston pins were free before the motor was assembled.

The pins were free to move and rotate once the clips were fully seated.
    No interference fit whatsoever.
It was never assembled with tight pins.

It appears the rear rod big end has been grinding away on the flywheel.
It should have something like .005 - .020" side play, and now has over .050" .

    The pistons/bores aren't badly damaged , as it's only done around 300km's

No obvious metal in the oil as such, just a black film in the oil.

well that is a real bitch, the most important thing now that the cause is positively identified and fixed. No good them just cleaning things up and reassembling it. What ever it takes get to the bottom of the root cause, you dont want to be always wondering about it and don't need to go through this again.

Thanks guys, the whole thing is pretty disheartening.
Hate to think what would happen if I kept riding it as was suggested .
Waiting to hear back from the Crank builders to see where I go .
Half tempted just to buy the cheaper of the SE stroker cranks and get it welded here.
From what i can tell the S&S Cranks don't use thrust bearings, which seems strange ?

Shit mate sorry to hear the bad news on your build. I'm sure the flywheels can be rebuild with a new pin and bearings close to home.
