rear break caliper

    got new back tyre today put it on but when putting caliper on the pad on the inside did not go in slot provided rode about 20 k then noticed it fuck so got it home and put it on right but noticed when moving bike back and forth caliper moves a bit is this normal i have a manual done what they said but still worried.

    do you mean left and right as in warped disc? Or back and forth as in loose disc?

    just  when i wheel bike backwards the caliper moves i think the pads will bed in as its probably not in the same position as be fore

    Hmmm I am not sure I follow, but the calliper should be mounted firm! It does, after all, have to stop your bike.

    If your caliper is moving I wouldn't ride the bike till you sort it out. The caliper mounts through the axle, so if it moves something is not right. If it is your pads that are moving then different story. If they have been damaged replace, they don't cost a great deal.

    Yeah, the bits and bobs that keep you from dying shouldn't move unless you're making them move. Strip em down check everything and do it again.

    yer thanks guys i striped it down and found the problem it was the clip or spring that sits behind the pads was bent and making pads not release .Thanks pottsy.
