Thinking of picking up a set of S/E slipons and putting the original headers back on as am heading to phillip island next month for Stoners last aus GP and feel that there will be a large police presence on way down. There would be a lot of you guys on here with them on your hogs I would say . Are they a great deal quieter than the V&H big radius 2 into 2 ?...hoping so ...cheers Pete

I've got a 2 into 1 with a screaming eagle slip on muffler and even with the high flow filter and SE tuner my switchback still reads 96db compared to the Street Bob with the V&H 2 into 2 which reads 104db.

Those numbers are with our workshop sound meter so they may not be 100% accurate but they shouldn't be too far off.

I would expect the SE's to be a lot quieter but still not quite legal if the testers were being pricks.

I had a set of SE slip ons on my 883. The sticker on them has a rating of 97dB at 2750 rpm. So yeah, they're over.

SEII would be too loud but the new SE slip ons (the ones I have) are pretty quiet. I was still fined for them however. Had them tested at 96db @ 2650rpm from an AUVIS in Sydney. I'm allowed 98db @2650rpm. Depends on the officer who pulls you up. Being friendly, polite and respectful has no influence on a f**kwit.
