Rego and VIIU inspections

Hi all. I will probably rego my bike in the next week or two and since it was interstate. I have been told there is a good chance it will require a VIIU random inspection. Now I'm not worried about passing a blue slip but this special inspection might be a bit different. Has anyone been through one before? What would they think about V&H big radius exhaust. T bars and aftermarket wheels ??? I hope I'm concerned about nothing and I won't be picked but I'm just thinking of plan B Cheers

Its a NSW rego thing. I think its called the Vehicle identification inspection unit. basically its suppose to be random but any vehicle they deem to be high risk ( imports, interstate, older vehicles or I heard harleys) may get picked. Basically you dont know until you rock up to the RTA with blue and green slip in hand. At the last minute they may slap you with this special inspection and you walk out with no rego and a booking possibly weeks away to have the vehicle inspected.
At the inspection they actually take your bike into a closed workshop. You cant even watch what they are doing.

Did you read this Nissan skyline thread on the subject?
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/152515-what-is-a-vehicle-identification-inspection/
Old mate bought an imported skyline in stock japanese condition, took it in to "make sure it's not a rebirth" then failed the test because of xenon lights and japanese rubber.
I'd expect them to be thorough. If it doesn't meet ADR's then you wont pass. Expect the worst.
It's the way it is nowadays re: compliance. There seems to be a law against everything fun.

Well went to the RTA with Blue slip and greenslip........Passed no worries. Now registered and ready to ride.
But my poor mate with an unregistered car he bought from Victoria. Sitting next to me he gets to the counter. BAM ID inspection required. Luck of the draw.
Standard commodore too !!!!
cheers.

Hi guys - What about just he normal Rego inspection (not blue slip). I have got an 2009 Night Rod which is due for rego and this is the first year i have got and inspection required on the rego notice. I have got V&H piples which are loud. Would that be an issue ? Surely every HD i have seen have got after market pipes - Any idea on where to get the inspection done in Lower North Shore ?
Thanks guys.

I would always put the standard pipes back on before the test .
