Yeah I know this seems weird.  I have a black HD solo spring seat.  I'm now wishing I had gone with the brown one!

You think one of those re dyeing kits would work?  Or am I better off just selling this one and buying the brown one?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. I could try dyeing it and might fuck it up. In which case I can't really sell it!

Would cover up the other skid marks at least

I would get better foam and have it covered in brown leather.

Yeah thought of that too, but figured it would run me around $200 to get it reupholstered. For $300 I can get a new seat, sell this one, and end up better off

Perhaps try a swap, place it in the for sale area or on Flea Bay.

What's wrong with the weathered look ?

In either case, I would recommend you buy a vinyl one next time; in my books leather and bikes don't mix unless you've got a show bike that just gets trailered to shows.

Guy I've been talking to says its pretty easy to re dye it. Just need to wet sand it, then apply the dye.

I can't put together ikea shit though, so I'm bound to fook it up.

Well, I decided to go against better judgement on this one.  After speaking to a place called PPC in Warriewood who specialize in this type of thing, they said there is no reason why re dying leather should ruin it.  So, picked up some 600 grit sandpaper, some Leatherique Prep Agent and custom brown dye, and here's the result.

I might do a couple more coats still.  Or, may sand it back a bit to give it that worn in look.  Although my fat ass will give it the worn in look rather quickly.

    Before on left...after on right..

Place is called Permanent Painted Coatings in Warriewood. Guy who owns it is named Rob. Awesome guy to deal with. Walked me through the whole process of what needs to be done.

I walked in with some paint chip samples last Friday afternoon. He mixed it up for me on the spot. Wet sanded it with the prep agent last night. Started coating it this morning. That's after 4 coats. Takes 48 hours to dry, so can't ride for a couple days.

The product is called Leatherique. They make a bunch of stuff. Here's a link to PPCs website, and the product line.

Im with UG. Nice paint colour. Seat came out well too. I can see why you wanted brown. Can I see a photo of the entire bike please?
