But you can probably get a different seat to asssist with any height issues.
Go down to the local harley shop during the week, less people around so you might actually get some assistance and have a look and sit on a few bikes.

Hey crookneez I admire yur tenacity but the overbalance/heavy bike thing IS an issue the older you get. How's about a Harley sidecar or Harley trike?

Best of both Worlds there coz you've got the HD and the balance/stability thing is not an issue. 

And you can bring the Missus along. Just sayin'.
