Running in new shovel top end

    Any advice in re to running in a new shovel top end, any tips or advice as there is conflicting advice around in re to this, Thanks.

    Yep,listen to Dave, always good advice when it comes to shovelheads, loud shirts and music not so good

     If its just a top end as in taking the heads off for a refurb, bolt her up, run a it for a hundred k's or so and retighten the heads and she will be sweet as a nut. No biggie.

    For a rebore/rings etc - see above,

    don't thro too much heat @ her @ 1st , if you let it idle for more than a 1 min put a fan on her  esp around the head's,  after 1st run tighten barrels .heads . rockers etc & check tappets when cold before riding again , do this a few time's in the 1st 500 klms  no big trips  just small stuff let it cool down  inbetween  change the oil in the 1 st 200 klms , use  50/70 W
