Just my 2 cents,I have read a lot a about this subject on the Yanky forum and there seems to be no doubt that the thundermax or cert is the way to go. The advantage of the thundermax is you can transfer it to your next bike. But the cert, although more tuneable, is only compatible to the bike you have attached it to and you need someone that knows what they are doing to tune it properly. Knowing all this, I was a bit short of money and went for the stage one race download on my 06 softy and it does pop and carry on a bit. $320 bad decision. I will put up with for a while and see how it goes but it is annoying me at the moment.

I agonised over this subject for nearly 12 months, reading everything I could find, and despite all the technology that abounds there is still great debate between people that are Pro this and Anti that.A lot of what we read is just peoples perceptions and not necessarily fact I think. So after many long hours spent in front of the computer trying to digest the fact  from fiction,For my application I ended up going for the Vance & Hines Fuel Pak,and afer fittting it and adjusting the top end map a little,I must say that I am happy with the way it has transfered the bike.If I was going to do any more radical changes to the engine I would have gone to something else, depending on how radical I was going to go.But for me with the standard engine with just exhaust and High Flow air filter, the Fuel Pak fits the bill and was cost effective.

The standard system sucks, most dealers no nothing of the download.

You spend $30k buying the bike then have to spend more to get it to run right, = charge as much for the product then lets do them for some more.

I wonder if you would ever here of Enzo Ferrari sending a product out of their factory the way Harley do these days.

Then when you do do the mods to get it to run respectable the local officers/epa will take a liking to you.

Catch 22 damned if you do damned if you don't.
