Do you have a workshop manual??

It's not that hard, but yes, the calliper has to come off.

As Ando says, it makes it easier to remove the guard. But I don't. I undo everything and get the axle out with the bike on a lift and just enough weight on the back wheel to hold it there. Then pump the lift up until you have enough room to roll the wheel out. Reverse the process to get it back on. :)

Pottsy the best piece of advice I can give you is to tape up your rim around where the rear caliper sits, it's a pretty tight fit removing the caliper & it saves you from scratching your rim. I also tape up the rear drive pulley where it may be scratched by the swingarm.

As Ando said remove the back guard, two bolts either side where your fender struts mount to the frame, disconnect the rear brake lights & indicators (one plug) then remove the whole fender. The wheel is pretty heavy & when you're doing the job yourself it makes it easier to lift the wheel in & out of the swingarm.

If you don't have a belt tensioner guage meaure the belt tensioner bolts before you loosen them, that way when you re-fit the wheel you can return the tensioner bolts to that measurement & your belt tension should be pretty right..

I have the same pipe on me bike, you may have to remove the muffler to get into the 2 x (T30 torqx) bolts for your calipers.

Pulling wheel out no problem, putting it back in ,different story.  patience patience

    Cheers

    Points to note.

you need twelve point sockets - caliper

Remove the pads from the caliper - much easier removal and no scratches to the rim.

All the rest is covererd already.
