    Hi all.

hopefully my new ride is in the garage next sunday and it looks like my first ride will be a 2 day job the following weekend.

Im after a backpack to take a few days clothes and possibly a very small tent and sleeping bag and keep everything dry. Now some time back i was talking to this guy at a petrol station and he had what looked like a really cool but also functional back pack.

it was long and appeared to be leather with a strap that attaches at each end and its hung over one shoulder  and across the back. It looked big and water proof and i thought it suited the bike/rider also.

Does anyone know of this style of backpack. If googled a bit and just cant find anything like it. Occasional army disposal styel bag looks close but not quite.

    Anyone have any ideas ?

    Cheers

Yeah had a image search. Closest i come was basically duffle bags. The one he had looked like leather but i guess canvas would be better. It had a long zip and flap to open it along its length which gave good access to everything in the bag. He had a small tent, sleeping back and all his personal stuff in it. looked like a real good setup.

Search continues. Im thinking army disposals is the closest im going to get.

Thinking a duffle bag slung across the back should work. Big ,waterproof, looks good. Its the closest to what i spotted that day. Just a matter of finding a good quality one.
Dont want my crap spread across the highway first ride.

    Cheers

I dont think a bag laden with tent, sleeping bag and a bunch of clothes hanging off your shoulder/s for a two day trip is going to be very comfortable, let alone for an hr.
I suggest a sissy bar and strap a bag to that, then you have something nice to lean back on. I find that way !!really!! comfy.
I run around with a day bag made out of leather on the same style as a crib/miners bag, but you wont fit camping gear in it
