Greetings to all!
My '08 sporty has had an idle problem/gremlin ever since I inherited it - when hot/warmed up and restarted the idle jumps up to 1500 RPM for 2-3 seconds before recovering and settling down to its 900 RPM idle. This happens all the time - not intermittent. Cold Start is 1250 RPM and settles at 900RPM when the head temp reaches 275F.
It is fitted with a T/Max Auto tune and is running sweet as (because I know how to tweak the thing) and I have had a variation of A/Cleaners & pipes on it, run ICAL (Idle Calibration) everytime I changed anything.
I have tried idle speeds from 800RPM to 1200RPM all with the same results when hot (and no, 800 RPM does not see any significant drop in oil pressure from 1200RPM) start, high RPM for 2-3 seconds then back to 900RPM or whatever I have set it at. I do not know if the original ECU did this because it is still sitting in a box with all the other original bits! (And I am not going to swap it out just to check a 2-3 second blip).
Just after anybody who has had the same experience and a possible fix!
Thanks for any sensible input!

sounds like an air leak. have you checked manifold? have you tryed resetting and then re-callibrating the throtte position? if that fails contact there support!

Hey Will,
The manifold is all good - no leaks and the Auto support is totally useless. I tried it twice and never got any reply back from them - waste of time. Not sure if the throttle position has much to do with it - seems the IAC is letting in too much air when its hot then the ECU catches up and says whoa to the idle speed - but I wil endeavour to check it out!! Thanks for the info
could be your iac controller ,plugs into the top of the throttle body????
