Highway Foot Pegs

I currently have mid mounts. Prices some forward controls today and fell off my chair.

I was suggested highway foot pegs.

Im afraid of forgetting that the brake and gears arent there and the time to shift to the controls may cause an accident.

    Does anyone use them?

Forwards are dear , but worth it . Had dealer supply and fit for around $600 . I,m 6' 2" and kept gettin cramps in the hips . Gear changes and braking without moving feet to mid pegs was another reason I didn,t do highway pegs .For some reason the bike feels better balanced at very low speeds with feet forward .

Yep that was near the price quoted. I just cant see $600 in them. Im 5'10" but I do get hip lock (as I call it) from time to time. Not often, usually when stopped but its annoying.

Superglide2012, My bike (US import) came with highway pegs, but I have never used them for the reasons you mentioned, ie, I am not comfortable with my feet so far off the controls in case of an emergency.
They are as the name implies only good for highways, ideally deserted straight highways with no chance of an animal darting across the road, maybe one of those American country highways!
PS: I have left them on the bike as they are fairly unobtrusive, but rigid and will give some protection to the bike in case of a spill, yep, they are just mini crashguards to me!

same here i use both when i use highway pegs my heel still can hit the rear brake so no need to swap foot to mid to brake & my left heel can go down gears if needed lol  ,my highway pegs cost me $140 from sys and were hd and chrome

Thanks for the replies fella's. I was quoted near $200 for HD highway pegs and that didnt include the actual rubber on them. Steel only and you had to buy the slip ons to go over them.
Well I have some thinking to do. Anyone got a photo of the pegs?

Got the HD adjustable hi-pegs on my bike don't use them all the time but when I need to stretch the legs they are there.

I only stand about 5'7" with short legs so forwards are out of the question for me, I have ridden a few Wide Glides over a short distance and my legs cramped up trying to keep my feet on the forwards, anyway back to the hi-pegs bought mine at Morgan & Wackers I paid a $139 for them they did not come with footpegs but I had some spare ones at home and if you buy the mounts you can always check ebay for pegs plenty there cheers.

Scraped the fuck out of the pegs mid mounted , still scrape em , but not as bad forward mounted . I,ve also scraped the flat sump protector bar hangin off the frame , doin its job I spose.

Gotta love the Adelaide Hills !
