     Hi All,

OK, just looking into 412 progressive shocks VS 440 progressive shocks for the rear of my XL883N.

Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience either way, and if you think the 440's series are worth investing in, as they're almost $200 more expensive.

Everyone seems to say that the stock rear shocks are pretty poo, and bottoms out, but without having try'd anything else, I don't know the difference yet.

    Ideas anyone?

there are 3 things that keep you safe on a bike, ,tyres, brakes and suspension . my advise buy the best of these you can afford, and yes stock suspension is seriously lacking ive been riding for over 30 years had gsxr,s speed tripples dirt bikes etc and can say that the iron suspension is the worst i have had but i love the rest of the bike .

Man, in your signature it sounds like you're up there with the more serious end of the suspension bits of kit.

The rear of your bike looks like you must have to regularly check that no cats have gotten in between your rear wheel and the fender. How do you like the amount of travel on your rear suspension? It must be majorly smoother than the stock rattlers!

Those shocks in the picture are not on the bike any more , not as good as I had hoped so got some ohlins on the way , the ride hight is nice though nothing touches apart from the bottom pipe if you hit a big bump mid corner . Will do a full post on ohlins shocks when they arrive and I have tested them out
