Just letting everyone know. I managed to fit the new speedo on my bike yesterday. Due to the SE1200 conversion, the speedo does not show the gear indicator. HD confirmed that this is the case but the dealer said they might come up with a fix for this soon.

Everything else works fine and you can play around with the colours for hours before you get to a combination of your preference. Thanks Slapster, wouldn't have got it if it weren't for your post with the pictures mate. And yes, very easy to fix.

That's weird about the gear indicator. But good to hear you got it fitted no issues.

I picked up and fitted my new tacho/speedo today. Works a treat and looks so much better.

There is a slight delay with the gear indicator as it works out the gear by the speed and rpm. Still pretty good though.

I didn't bother with the fuel sender kit at this stage. If it is as accurate as the current low fuel light it won't be worth the $171.
Has anyone done the fuel sender with the new tacho speedo?

I am getting one of these fitted with the fuel level sensor on my new forty eight is every body happy with them ?

Is there a button on the front to switch between the menus ? or is it like the button on the back like the standard speedo ?

Saw these on the HD site a few weeks back, lucky as I was almost set on getting a Dakota digital one, until i saw this, its way sexier!

Where did you order from slap? Still liking it after some test riding?......be handy to pick one up in Perth, though I highly doubt it!

Is anybody have one of these on a sportster with the fuel level sensor fitted ? I'm having problems with the fuel level indication on mine still showing half a tank and 90km's remaining when i'm running on fumes. I've checked the speedo setup and the correct size tank is selected, The dealer is going to try and resolve it at first service.

Just wanting to know if anybody is having the same problem ?

Probs just the sensor In the tank I would expect mate, would just need need adjusting when it's in for the service... Not that I'm an expert!
Let us know how you go though, I'm hoping to get one of these soon for mine..

I have just picked up my new Iron & I can say the new Speedo/Tacho/Fuel Gauge is sensational.

A few things I didn't know, the fuel warning light (fuel bowser symbol) illuminates just under the number 5 on the RPM counter in bright yellow.

This illuminates with approx. 75 K's  left.

Then at approx. 50 K''s the Odometer automatically changes to a big "R" for range left (which you can manually tab to if you want)

& then at about 25 K's this is when the last quarter of the bars on the fuel gauge, this starts flashing at you to remind to stick some fuel in.

I have a Range of about 12 K's on the gauge & went to take off to fill it as the servo is about 2 K's from my place & got out the driveway & probably 10 houses away & she started to surge, so stopped the beast & wheeled her home. Stuck a torch in the tank (no not a lighter  ;) & there was probably a litre or 2 left. Just trying to work out how the tank sucks fuel & where from. Would anyone have a pic of a tank in half?

I know these things are an estimate so I now know what mileage I can get from a tank. Which was pretty muh what I expected, seeing this is the 1st fill it may get a little better.

    Cheers

Yep, had to get the sender unit as on the 13MY it is part of the fit, otherwise it will cause issues. (So I am told  ;)

I have on the Speedo as it sits in the garage 199 K's.

    I assumed & was also told I would get 200 K's from a tank.

Its what I expected & absolutely love the thing.

    Cheers.

Yeh they told me that at the dealer too, though others here have fitted them without the sender and had no problems.. Better to have it than not though aye!

Bike sounds sweet by the way mate, you should post up a pic or 10! :)

I fitted the speedo/tacho without the fuel sender to my 2010 Custom 1200 and it works fine. Even the the low fuel light works but still as inaccurate as the stock unit. Don't think I will bother wasting $170 on a sender unit.
