I really like the look of the side-mount speedo (esp. the kit from Joker), but I'm not so keen on the $400 price tag for all the required parts! Might just stick with the dual instrument mod!

Scored mine last week $340 & fitted it yesterday, it's a simple job.

The odometer data is copied over by plugging the new speedo into the data link connector (adaptor cable supplied) behind the left side panel & turning on the ignition key.

Removing the old speedo only takes a few minutes & the new gauge swaps in easy. It then takes a few moments synchronising to the ECM. The speedo will lock to your ECM after 50km.

Here it is in all its MPH glory, swapping to KMH only takes a push of the back reset button. Shown with default lighting colours (customisable).

There is also a gear indicator (for 2008+ models) which lights up in the top right corner of the lcd panel next to the speed. I didn't buy the fuel sensor kit so just have the default fuel light.

I wasn't a fan of the chrome trim ring at first but once on the bike it contrasts nicely & looks good.

    Cheers.

    Slap.

I too prefer the look of the dual guages (S/T) and would like to fit the Tacho converstion kit to my new 2013 110th Anniversary sporty once it arrives here in Oz (just waiting for 'that' phone call from Sys's @ Campbeltown).  Does anyone know if it is still available as an option for the latest year models??

I know what I am getting for Christmas now. Has anyone priced up the fuel sender kit to suit?

They have a customer VIP program and I get 10% back to spend on something else so its not too bad. Maybe put that towards the fuel sender later on. There is always something I want for the bike hey.

I have just ordered one but am now concerned. I have just finalised to do a 1200 SE Stage 1 conversion with the dealer and the catalogue says that the speedo will not work on bikes where the 1200 conversion has been done.

Does not fit XL883 models equipped with Screamin’ Eagle 1200cc Stage I Conversion Kit P/N 29784-07 and 30003-10.

If am not able to cancel the order, I might have one for sale to someone in Sydney! I paid $375

Update: After doing some research on other HD Forums, it seems that the speedo will work on 883's which have gone through a conversion. However, it will not provide info on gear position because of the ECM remapping. This will be an issue with all those who have remapped.

Hey Slap, does the gear indicator work on yours given that you've done a 1200 conversion? I realise that you conversion is not the SE1200 but I'm still interested to know if the gear indicator works?
