This has had me thinking since I saw it last week on the US forum.

Am now chewing on whether to stick with the speedo relo or get a bikini fairing & go a cafe theme. Either way I really want a tacho & this unit would be ideal.

Dunno about the added cost of the fuel level sensor kit though.

Do you have to get the fuel sensor kit for the speedo to work though?  Or is it just optional?

I prefer having a clean bar. The RSD gauge/headlight kit looks nice, but not sure if it only works with clip ons.

    Hey Slap,

Now I can see the photo, cheers for that. Fucked if I know why I couldn't before, nothing has changed???

I'm trying to find a tacho as well and was looking at the HD unit (67182-07), which matches the factory speedo. I think the two units would look good next to each other on top of the bars. I'm trying to keep it looking old school and don't really want the digital speedo...

If you can't see the image above then maybe copy & paste the part number in a Google image search.

Looks good. I like the fact that the tachometer is analogue...I'm gonna get one

Part cost is $341, does anyone know if group buys push the price down? How do we organise one.  I emailed Sam from HD Peter Stevens on the 'anything you need" page from this forum in the parts for sale part for pricing, it needs to be ordered in and I thought it would be good to get a better price if there were a few of us after the same thing.  Thought i'd ask here first if anyone has done it, otherwise i'll email Sam again to ask...

I have previously found at HH it's not uncommon to get 10-15% off parts if you ask nicely.

Always thought the Dakota Digital units were pretty good but  I like the analogue tacho readout on this unit....

    Cheers

This thread and the free install from Harley City when servicing inspired me. However I went with the old school steampunk look for my Iron. Double whopper.

I like the look of the new speedo/tacho, but I don't think I'll worry about it myself. I want to do a dual-light conversion, and I think dual instruments would compliment that look quite nicely.

On the other hand, can this new one (and the current one, for that matter) be relocated off to the side and out of the way somewhere? If so, it might still be a good option if I decide to go for a clean look for the bars at some point, and want to get it out of the way.

You can never have too many options!

I would think it should still work with the side speedo relocation, but I personally wouldn't bother. With the speedo on the side, it's difficult to see. I have to look up and over the left side of my tank to see mine. I rarely do. So I would question why someone would spend $300+ on a new speedo if that's the case.
