Hi Guys , just back from the USA and i bought a bike (1982 fxb Sturgis ;) and am looking for info on it as it is stock and almost  totaly original but finding pictures and spec's of the original off the showroom floor bike seems almost impossible , some guy on ebay is selling an artical out of a mag but only 6 pic's in it  so any tip's or leads on where to go would be much appreaciated , most pic's of  bike's on the net have mod's of one sort or another , have already purchased original seat and decals but details on some other areas of the are still sketchy.

    Cheers Noddy

Noddy, go out to Evil Twin in maddington used to be known as HD wreck anyway there is a sturgis on the showroom floor that you can look at and if you ask for Mick he is the owner of the shop I am sure he can help you with parts you may need

I've got that same brochure as Dave and I think I've got the previous years as well.

I still remember when I got them from Burling and Symons at Auburn when I used to haunt the dealershipand driving up there at night when they were close drooling over that bike and others in the window so I didn't get hassled by the old boys and Greg trying to sign me up when I couldn't afford it.

I have to admit that although I do like the black/gold version I still have great memories of that first all black with red stripe wheels.

Looking forward to some pics of your new ride!

    Mark.

I have one of the same style but it leaks due to some corrosion plus I dont want to sell it, they do come up on ebay in the US a bit and I have seen a black one recently this year if you have the part number try NOS parts or Jan Willem Boon just google those names both excellent resources for hard to get obsolete OEM parts if you cant find em let me know and I will PM you the URL I have got parts from these guys that HD gurus have told me were impossible to get

heading over to Melbourne this week and cant find a web page for Harley city in Sydney road , any ideas as I would love to see that bike . also want to buy some mini apes as the originals on my bike are very uncomfortable but want some close to original style with slightly different bend as I feel like my hands are going to slip off the grips unless i hang on tight all the time .

    Hey Zorro,

Their's a brand new oem twin seat sitting up at HD Gasoline Alley, Springwood (near Brisbane) for $250. www.gasolinealleyharleydavidson.com.au

Not sure the difference between a Sturgis and the standard FXE seat, sorry.

I was thinking about getting it but have more places/reasons to  spend $'s.

When you call them, ask for Nick at the service counter.
