    Hi there

I'm trying to decipher a VIN Number on a bike I'm looking at here in OZ and there is one letter that could be a G or a C.

    From what I've researched:

C stands for Regular introduction date/HDI calibration  or and I'm leaning towards this of course

G stands for Regular introduction date/AUS calibration

and I'm assuming the reference to calibration has to do with the ECM?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

    Cheers

    It it's a 1HD vin then it's a Yank "domestic spec" model

If it's a 5HDI then it's an international spec model

(More than likely Australian from new )

However there are more than a few grey imports that have come out of Japan and they are 5HDI same as the Aussie bikes

They have different gearing / sprocket teeth numbers etc etc , but that would be hard to spot .

However it's unlikely a 2012 ex-Japan bike is here so soon , usually they're 5+ years old on import
