Hey not trying to steal your post Careyman but I did an intermediate course with Stay upright a year or two ago for the same reason as you, cos i was just getting back into it. Now I am looking for an advanced course on the track, at Broadford if possible cos its near me in the North East of Vic. But they do not have an advanced course going in the rest of this year.

So I found these people, Rider Bros, the question is has anyone done a course with them???? would love to know.

i did my licence with them, and i have 4 mates that also did their licence there. i have not done the advance training, but as for the people - we could not have been happier with them. When is the couse on? i may consider coming alone.

Got my Ps with Rider Bros and Done the Stay Upright advanced course at Broadford twice ... it's a blast if you can get on it. There's plenty of track time and they will provide individual feedback based on you following and then leading the instructor round the track. Probably spent 200 kms on the track each time - unfortunately both days it's rained (a couple of inches for the whole day the first time I went) but I probably learnt heaps more in those conditions. 2nd time, we got some dry laps in before it really bucketed down on the way home.

Get on it - you can't practice some of this stuff on the road and it is reassuring to have pushed your capabilities and those of your bike in a controlled environment. It's not a race day, but you can certainly open up the throttle (140kms down the straight) and your insurance *might* offer a discount if you've completed a course like this - but for the track time alone it's worth it.

I did the stay upright intermediate course down near Geelong when I first got on the bike again, a couple of years ago. I came down from NE Vic. It was a really good course & reminded me of a lot of stuff that I may have not known before & like FXcowboy says they get you doing stuff you cannot practice on the road. But the intermediate course is not on a race track. Its a nice little specific training track but you cannot get a lot of speed going, which is fine for what they are teaching.

I spoke with the Rider Bros a few days ago and they said that they would call me back but have not heard yet, so perhaps i should help their business along & call them back.

Don't know when their courses are, I will look up again & let you know.

Just called again & guess what the girl said she will call me after she gets some info & dates. Anyhow the course is all day at Broadford track, its Cost $260 lunch & light refreshments provided.

Will there be any others interested?? I think these sort of courses are not really for riders coming back or new riders, but a rider should be able to go at their own pace I would reckon. They do have a "knee down" course which I will leave to the sport bike enthusiasts cos I reckon there will be othe things scraping before I could get my knee down.
