Hi all,
I recently had to put the stock exhaust back on because of the dreaded sound test. Short shots were well and truly over.....
(this is for my iron 883 by the way)
The process of swapping back and forth is obviously a pain in @rse....I was wondering if anyone had ever made an attachment that could fit over the end of the short shots for testing purposes.....ok this might sound a of a crazy idea but similar to the short shot slip on's for the stock exhaust I was thinking with a bit of metal work the stock muffler could be used to slip over the end of the short shots (yes and look stupid) to get cleared for the defect ??
Anyone think this would be possible ?
Cheers
Kookie
what you could try is buy a spare set of baffles i think the V & H come in two types std and quiet.
The quiet baffles will still fail the test, and swapping the pipes as a whole will probably be much easier than swapping the baffles out. Once they're in there, they're in there!!
scroll down this page you will see the quiet baffles for 36$

The Smart Partz Hard Kore baffles are supposed to drop the sound significantly (up to 20%). That should get it down to the legal limit.
