    Hi all,

Tried to post in here yesterday but somehow I lost it all and now I cant be bothered writing out the whole speel I had yesterday haha

Basically I just bought my first HD, a 2007 street bob and I want to make some changes. It has the V&H slip ons on the stock pipes which sound great but I'd love to throw some black V&H pipes on there to keep with the denim black and the black engine. I have heard a few videos of different pipes and tried to watch as many as possible of each of the models because as you know the sound quality changes from each video. so I've narrowed it down to 2 options either the short shots, regular or staggered OR the side shots. Are there any big advantages or disadvantages of either of these pipes, I know I'm a newbie but they seem to sound pretty similar, is the only real difference between these two sets the angle?

Also, I would like to change out the bars, I still have the stock mini apes on at the moment and I was thinking of changing to the Roland Sands King ape 16". Does anyone have experience with these bars or similar?

Any advice or opinions are much appreciated

unless your a big bloke i would go with the 14 inch bars. Had the 16s on my streetbob and were a tad high and got a bit uncomfortable on long trips. I am 174 cm high.
Short shots and side shots are fucking loud.Vance and hindes look great, sound great but are a shit proformance pipe. heres my old streetbob, now sold but it will give you an idea on what they look like with bars on. Also had the V & H big radis on it

Underground mine was 06. the 06s didnt have the problem. i think from memory it was the 08 on which made it hard.

Im 185cm, I think the only choices the roland sands king ape had were 16 or 19"  which would be a bit full on i think. Does anyone know of another company which do bars similar to those ones but 14"?

Are the big radius quieter than the side shots/ short shots?

These are the sort of bars I'm looking for

    Ryno,
    Try Ultima Australia at Hornsby.
I was up there yesterday and am pretty sure I saw something close to those bars.
    He had black and chrome.
    He is also on evilbay.
I bought a 5 3/4 headlight off him earlier in year and service was great, had the headlight next day.

Was very happy with quality on mine, what did you have a problem with.
I am looking at buying some more gear from him.

there are adapters for the intergrated risers, I have posted some thing up before but fucked if I can find it.

V& H are loud but you can quiten them down, I have the 2:1 big radius and they would be at least half as loud as original and it doesn't feel like it has lost anything 106.6ftlb 85.9hp

Ryno, try Santee, I think they have bars like those but at 14" also a bloke is selling some 14" road6customs apes like that in the for sale section.

I put black fat bob trees on mine to get rid of the intergrated riser crap, powdered my lowers too, it sets the front end off wicked :)

I think the integrated risers started in 08 so I'm lucky there.

Fred Kodlin does do some awesome bars. do those apes come in black? or do they come raw and you have to paint/chrome them

Just a quick one Ryno, you may have issues here in WA with larger apes. The boys in Blue really like to hammer us, but high apes seem to bring in alot of attention. Doublecheck also what the legal height limit is for them in WA. Last thing you want to do is get these really nice apes and then have to pull them off and not be able to enjoy them.

There is a good chance that because your 185 high they may not look that big whilst you are riding......
