I have just avertised a harley for sale at a variety of sites including on hdforums.

I have ust received this reply from a would be buyer??? and I seem to recall seeing this as a scam somewhere.

Thanks, as for this price it is ok. Due to demanding and eventful work i won't be able to come and view it myself, i am interested in the item and it is needed overseas. I will be making use of a shipping company to have this picked up from your side and have it delivered. Further arrangements will be made with you in regards to the pick up once i have paid you.

I would appreciate if you email me with more pictures (if available) too since i won't be be able to see this in person, I'd be paying via PayPal or Bank transfer so kindly get back to me with your paypal or bank details for payment, cheers.

Has ayone else seen anything similar and found it was a scam

Sounds ify to me, would you buy a bike without seeing it?

As to accounts and handing over that information, I'd think twice there too.

Dont EVER accept payment for you bike via Paypal. As soon as they get your bike, they will lodge a paypal claim, or use a scammed account, and your money is gone!! Bank Transfer ONLY!!

Ask them to transfer money to your account via western union they will run real quick. Also tell them they need to pay 10% deposit by credit card to secure the "item". Lastly you don't have paypal.

As others have said it is a scam.

    Hi Chopaweeza
I have heard of your good work

Thanks for the swift reply, What is your asking price and i want you
to get back to me with more pictures because i am not
available at the moment and wont be able to come for the inspection
due to the fact that i am working in Malaysia and will be using the
bike here.I will be handling the shipping and pickup through a
legitimate shipping agent that has their headquarter situated in Malaysia.
They will be the one to do the changing of ownership and signing of
    all necessary
documents/title before the bike leaves your country so there is no
    problem about that.
The bike will be picked up after you receive the full payment via PayPal which
is fast and easy and this is the only way i can be able to get the
    money across to you.
Do get back to me so i can know your stand on this and let me know your final
price and some pictures will do.

Thats alright then. I can send a bank transfer from my PayPal account
if you send me your name, bank name, account number and bsb and i will
    look into the payment

    BEWARE they are everywhere

Ive put a thread on previously tittled, selling your bike/car.

The scammers tried this on me and some people i know, For the most part, the scammers try to convince you that they want to buy your vechial, ect. Then they get a bit of a dialog going with you by sending emails back and forth. There trying to groom you. Then they hit you up with the ,I work on oilrigs, bla bla, and due to circumstances beyond there control, they want you to place some money in there accounts ect so they can get there funds released to you. It has nothing to do with pay pal, couriers, as such. The second you do, theyve, got you.

I got a few of them to text me then pretended i would place money in there account ect, then i got a few to ring me.

If you can get them to at least text you, read the country mobile code, ( The first two nos of the mobile no.)

Australia is 61, Most of the scammers are 44, Thats Englands mobile code, some are others. Then fuck with them just for the hell of it as outlined in my , Selling your bike/car thread. At least youll get a good laugh at the scammers for wasting your time.

Yep - Steer clear of Paypal. If he is serious, he will do a Bank Transfer.

We had the chick behind us get scammed selling a lounge. $3000 worth of lounge, paid for on a credit card using Paypal. They came picked it up the same day the money hit the paypal account... and low and behold, the Credit Card was a fraud and Paypal took the cash back. :(

For that sort of cash, it's bank or bust!
